Hidden Costs Breakdown

1

Annual Price Increases

medium addon

Users report that Keeper implements yearly price increases on subscription renewals, with no published rate schedule. This results in higher costs over time beyond the initial subscription price.

trustpilot

The only drawback is the yearly price increase.

2

Difficult Cancellation Process

medium support

The subscription cancellation process is intentionally complex and time-consuming. Users report being unable to cancel easily through the interface, requiring significant effort to end subscriptions.

They make it intentionally difficult to cancel your subscription - this is just a money grab. It's hard to ca...

3

Opaque Auto-Renewal with No Cancel Option

high addon

Multiple users report that Keeper auto-renews subscriptions without a clear way to disable auto-renewal in the settings. Users who believed they had cancelled or that their plan was simply expiring found themselves charged again. Support states cancellation must be done by contacting them directly, which is buried in terms and conditions.

trustpilot

Plan showed expiration date but no sign that autorenewal was still on and no button to turn it off. Plan autorenewed. I put it down as my error so just paid for another year. This year I was cautious and continues checking and again said plan expiring March 2026. Assumed plan ending but again autorenewed. Wrote to Keeper and they stated I need to contact them direct to stop autorenewal and that it is in the "term and conditions". I asked for refund, they state can not do this.

trustpilot

Like other reviewers, I believed I had disabled auto-renewal after last year's charge, yet it renewed automatically again this year. There's no option in the settings to verify or manage auto-renewal, so I contacted support to have it disabled.

4

Business Account Lockout on Subscription Lapse

critical support

Enterprise and business customers report being completely locked out of all stored passwords immediately upon subscription expiry, with no grace period or fallback. Recovery requires contacting support, which can take hours, leaving entire companies unable to access credentials.

trustpilot

One day before subscription end I got the mail to extend the Enterprise subscription. I didn't have the time that day, so the next day, the whole company was locked out of their accounts. No Access to any Passwords at all! When I tried to fix the issue, payment didn't work for Credit Card and SEPA. From issuing the support request to recieving a mail with a payment link took around 4,5 hours.

5

Forced Add-On at Renewal Checkout

high addon

At least one user reports that the renewal payment link pre-selected a paid add-on (Silver Package) that could not be opted out of, effectively increasing the renewal cost beyond the base subscription price.

trustpilot

Clicking on the payment link lead to a checkout with a pre-selected Addon "Silver-Package", which I could not opt out from.

6

Data Export Hostage After Subscription Expiry

high migration

Users who let their subscription lapse and want to migrate to another password manager report being denied access to export their data unless they pay for another full year. This effectively locks users into the service or forces an additional payment just to retrieve their own data.

trustpilot

Company gave us free alternative tried to get csv file download like other password companies allow but because my subscription expired they have said I need to pay another 12 months subscription to get the file.

trustpilot

It's good. But they intentionally make it hard to switch to alternative platforms by omitting key fields when exporting your data
